Adaptive anisotropic constitutive modeling of natural clays

چکیده
In this paper, an adaptive anisotropic constitutive model, namely AA1-CLAY, is developed for clays based on the critical state framework. The model has a non-associated flow rule, and it can also reduce to basic models. A versatile yield surface (YS) implemented in which generate broad range of shapes improve possibility capturing experimental points different clay types with high accuracy. addition isotropic hardening innovative rotational (RH) rule incorporated into control YS rotation rate. proposed RH uses transitional function govern effect plastic strains at constant stress ratios more realistically. Furthermore, equilibrium anisotropy, tends reach during straining, defined uniquely findings. detailed formulation presented, important features are elaborately discussed. capabilities demonstrated by comparing simulation results several element tests number against available data.

متن کاملAn incremental stress-based constitutive modeling on anisotropic damaged materials
An 'incremental form' of anisotropic damage constitutive equation is proposed both for brittle and ductile materials. Based on the concept of irreversible thermodynamics that damage processes are history independent coupled with irreversible energy dissipation, two types of definition for damage representation are established, known as damage tensor D and damage strain tensor nd, to describe co...
متن کاملKiller Clays! Natural antibacterial clay minerals
Clay minerals have been used in medicinal applications since Aboriginal times (Carretaro, 2002; Wilson, 2003). Clay poultices are used to heal wounds; people eat clays to coat stomach linings and soothe indigestion; animals eat clay containing trace elements (e.g., As) that can kill worms. The reasons that various clay minerals are effective as medicines may be as variable as the ailment, but b...
متن کاملAn anisotropic tertiary creep damage constitutive model for anisotropic materials
When an anisotropic material is subject to creep conditions and a complex state of stress, an anisotropic creep damage behavior is observed. Previous research has focused on the anisotropic creep damage behavior of isotropic materials but few constitutive models have been developed for anisotropic creeping solids. This paper describes the development of a new anisotropic tertiary creep damage c...
